I am not a Solicitor nor am I a Barrister but I do have a great deal of experience in dealing with issues in the family court. Having had my own journey through the family court process and subsequently helping numerous others who were sadly having to resolve child contact disputes through the family courts, I ultimately realised that the knowledge and experience I have acquired is of great help to others. As a result, I now offer my services as a McKenzie's Friend.

 

Prices: (*Prices effective from 1st January 2024):

Initial 30 minutes telephone consultation: FREE

 

General/ancillary work: £90.00 per hour 

Face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, emails, completing forms, writing statements, preparing bundles and evidence, typing letters etc.

 

Court attendance (in person) up to 7 hours: £395.00

Court attendance (remote attendance): 

Up to 1 hour remote hearing: £260.00

1 to 2 hours remote hearing: £300.00

2 hours or more remote hearing (up to 7 hours): £395.00

Cancellation / Rescheduling of court days (% of costs taken from booking fee): 21+ days notice = 25%     14 to 20 days notice = £50%     8 to 13 days notice = 75%     7 days or less = 100%

Deposit: NON-REFUNDABLE

 

Travel by vehicle: £00.70p per mile

Vehicle parking: £15.00 per day (or more if applicable - depending on parking rates)

Travel by public transport (train/coach/taxi): (Client to reimburse on production of receipt)

Accommodation (where required): £POA

PAYMENT TERMS: Following your free consultation, if you wish to appoint KCMF then you will be given a quotation for the work that you require. You will then be asked to pay your deposit and the balance can then be paid by monthly instalments.

 

These are a fraction of the costs that solicitors and barristers charge but remember you will be speaking for yourself in court unless the judge grants rights of audience (if requested).

 

TO APPOINT OUR SERVICES - PAYMENT TERMS:

Once you have decided to appoint KCMF as your McKenzie Friend, you will be required to complete an agreement (for BOOKING FORM click here) and lodge a deposit of £240.00 (NON-REFUNDABLE), this will credit you with 3 hours of work, additional work will be discussed, agreed and invoiced.

 

PAYMENT METHODS: Bank transfer or PayPal (Credit cards are accepted but only in person).
